In conversation with UK law commissioner on digital assets

Roundtable   Virtual
  Tue 18 Oct 2022 14:00 - 15:00

Digital assets regulation in the UK is in its nascent stage. This roundtable, hosted by the Digital Monetary Institute and the UK Law Commission, explores the potential directions in which the UK legal system could go. The Law Commission’s ‘Digital assets’ consultation paper covers the current legal considerations for cryptotokens, non-fungible tokens, proof of work and proof of stake, as well as the extent to which current property and contract law is applicable, a potential new third type of property asset class and more.

Sarah Green, law commissioner for commercial and common law at the UK Law Commission, goes through the principal points of the consultation process and lays out the UK’s legislative framework on digital assets.
