OMFIF Terms & Conditions

Please read the following OMFIF Terms and Conditions, which relate to information regarding general use of our OMFIF website.

By accessing www.omfif.org, whether as a guest or registered user, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with the terms and conditions, you should not use www.omfif.org.

References in these terms and conditions to ‘OMFIF’ (or ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’) refer to the company operating at www.omfif.org.

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions were last updated on 6 September 2019 and replace all previous terms and conditions for www.omfif.org. We may update these terms and conditions for legal or regulatory reasons, or to reflect changes in our services or business practices.

2. Access and use

No intellectual property rights in any OMFIF Content are transferred to you. As a user, you may do the following:

  • View OMFIF Content for your personal use and store OMFIF Content on that corresponding device (personal computer, laptop, mobile) for your personal use.
  • Print single copies of Content on paper for your personal use.
  • Share non-member Content, such as Commentaries and other reports.

3. Restrictions on use

You cannot use omfif.org or OMFIF Content for any unlawful purpose or other than as outlined above. This means that you cannot:

  • Archive or store any of the OMFIF Content for access by anyone other than yourself.
  • Create derivative works from OMFIF Content, unless you clearly cite the original work and corresponding authors.
  • Photocopy, scan, transmit, electronically or otherwise, any of the OMFIF Content without prior consent of the publisher.
  • Remove the copyright or trade mark notice from any copies of OMFIF Content made under these terms and conditions.

While every care is taken to provide accurate information, the publisher cannot accept liability for any errors or omissions. No responsibility will be accepted for any loss occurred by any individual due to acting or not acting as a result of any content of our publications. On any specific matter, reference should be made to an appropriate adviser.

All information received by you from your use of omfif.org will be used by OMFIF in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please read this for details of how we may process your personal data.

On registration, you must provide OMFIF with accurate, complete registration information and it is your responsibility to update and maintain changes to that information on the applicable omfif.org registration or subscription pages.

How we use your information

This privacy notice tells you how we, OMFIF, will collect and use your personal data. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our Site, subscribing to our service, registering for a meeting or report, posting material or requesting further services and might include the following:

  • Salutation
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Job title
  • Company name
  • Email
  • Mailing country
  • Mailing city
  • Telephone number
  • Gender

We may also ask you for information:

  • when you report a problem with our Site and if you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • relating to your area of expertise as a result of communicating with us.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

Information that we obtain from you when buying goods from the OMFIF shop (www.omfif.org/shop) or purchasing a membership, in addition to the above, include credit card, debit card or bank account details, but such information will be stored only by our payment provider, Worldpay or Sagepay and will not be held by us.

Information we get from your use of our Site and services:

In addition to cookies, we may also collect details about your usage of the Site. Those may include, but are not limited to:

  • Traffic data
  • The resources that you access on the Site

Why does OMFIF need to collect and store personal data?

In order for us to provide you with a service, we need to collect personal data for correspondence. In any event, we are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.

In terms of being contacted for marketing purposes, OMFIF gives you the option to opt out of marketing emails when you opt in for a service. You can opt out of these at any time.

Will OMFIF share my personal data with anyone else?

In certain circumstances, OMFIF may share your personal information with:

  • OMFIF’s meeting or report partners, relating only to the specific meeting or report triggering the submission of your data.
  • Speakers at OMFIF meetings so they can understand the audience and occasionally with other attendees at roundtables where this will help facilitate discussion. This will not involve your contact details being shared for marketing purposes. Please contact enquiries@omfif.org if you wish for your data to not be shared in any of these circumstances.
  • If you are registering for a meeting held in partnership with another organisation or in the premises of a secure building, like a central bank, they may request the names and contact details of attendees and we may share these. The partner organisation(s) will always be clearly stated in the meeting description as posted on the website.  Where we meet the request of such third parties, we ensure that the third party is obligated to process the personal data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and our internal policies relating to the protection of Personal Data. If you wish to register for such a meeting but do not wish for your details to be shared, or for more information, please email: enquiries@omfif.org
  • Where the relevant third party is outside the EEA, we would only transfer data where an appropriate safeguard such as EU model clauses or Privacy Shield certification exists between the entities.
  • We may pass your personal data on to third-party service providers contracted to OMFIF in the course of dealing with you. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfil the service they provide you on our behalf[A1] . When they no longer need your data to fulfil this service, they will dispose of the details in line with OMFIF’s procedures. If we wish to pass your personal data onto a third party we will only do so once we have obtained your consent, unless we are legally required to do otherwise.

How will OMFIF use the personal data it collects about me?

OMFIF will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary. OMFIF is required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for income tax and audit purposes. How long certain kinds of personal data should be kept may also be governed by specific business-sector requirements and agreed practices. Personal data may be held in addition to these periods depending on individual business needs.

Under what circumstances will OMFIF contact me?

Our aim is not to be intrusive, and we undertake not to ask irrelevant or unnecessary questions. Moreover, the information you provide will be subject to rigorous measures and procedures to minimise the risk of unauthorised access or disclosure.

Can I find out the personal data that the organisation holds about me?

OMFIF at your request, can confirm what information we hold about you and how it is processed. If OMFIF does hold personal data about you, you can request the following information:

  • Identity and the contact details of the person or organisation that has determined how and why to process your data. In some cases, this will be a representative in the EU.
  • Contact details of the GDPR owner, where applicable.
  • The purpose of the processing as well as the legal basis for processing.
  • If the processing is based on the legitimate interests of OMFIF or a third party, information about those interests.
  • The categories of personal data collected, stored and processed.
  • Recipient(s) or categories of recipients that the data is/will be disclosed to.
  • If we intend to transfer the personal data to a third country or international organisation, information about how we ensure this is done securely. The EU has approved sending personal data to some countries because they meet a minimum standard of data protection. In other cases, we will ensure there are specific measures in place to secure your information.
  • How long the data will be stored.
  • Details of your rights to correct, erase, restrict or object to such processing.
  • Information about your right to withdraw consent at any time.
  • How to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
  • Whether the provision of personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract, as well as whether you are obliged to provide the personal data and the possible consequences of failing to provide such data.
  • The source of personal data if it wasn’t collected directly from you.
  • Any details and information of automated decision making, such as profiling, and any meaningful information about the logic involved, as well as the significance and expected consequences of such processing.

What forms of ID will I need to provide in order to access this?

OMFIF accepts the following forms of ID when information on your personal data is requested:

  • Driver’s license
  • Passport

6. Our responsibilities to you

This section clarifies, to what extent, if any, OMFIF accepts responsibility (liability) to you for your use of omfif.org or the OMFIF Content or in respect of any third party products or services that we refer to or link to on omfif.org.

OMFIF will try to develop and operate omfif.org with reasonable skill and care and will use reasonable efforts to promptly remedy any faults of which it is aware.

The personal information that you provide to us in your registration form will be solely used for registration purposes, and will not be disseminated to any other party or organisation.
