EIB policy response to Covid-19

Following the Eurogroup meeting on 9 April, the European Investment Bank was instructed to set up a €200bn fund for companies across the euro area. EIB President Werner Hoyer has been outspoken about the need for a pan-European response and for small- and medium-sized entreprises to access financial support quickly. The EIB fund is part of the Eurogroup’s wider package to protect jobs and companies throughout the crisis.
