Speaker: Bertrand de Mazières, Director General for Finance, EIB
Following the Eurogroup meeting on 9 April, the European Investment Bank was instructed to set up a €200bn fund for companies across the euro area. EIB President Werner Hoyer has been outspoken about the need for a pan-European response and for small- and medium-sized entreprises to access financial support quickly. The EIB fund is part of the Eurogroup’s wider package to protect jobs and companies throughout the crisis.
Bertrand de Mazières, the former chief executive of the French government agency tasked with handling government debt and treasury management, discusses the EIB fund and wider euro area recovery package.
