The green, social and sustainable bond market is growing fast in volume and also in the variety of formats and structures. Sovereign issuers are not just looking at standard green bond frameworks, but they are tailoring their issuance to their own and investors’ needs and are innovating fast.

This series will bring together key stakeholders from across the GSS capital markets – sovereign debt management offices, development banks, investors, rating agencies and intermediaries – to discuss the growth and key themes in the GSS sovereign bond market. It will explore lessons from recent debut issuers and thoughts from incoming first-time issuers, as well as from investors in this area.

The 2023 series by OMFIF’s Sovereign Debt Institute follows the culmination of the GSS issuer workshops run by the SDI in 2022, which attracted 40 DMOs and ministries of finance and over 50 investors from around the world.
