Promoting sovereign sustainable bond issuance in Latin America

Virtual roundtable
  Tue 20 Sep 2022 14:30 - 18:30

OMFIF is hosting a workshop to promote sovereign sustainable bond issuance in Latin America. The objective is to help emerging market sovereign issuers from the region enter the green, social and sustainable bond markets. By bringing together key stakeholders from all sides of the GSS capital markets – experienced debt management offices, development banks, investors, ratings agencies and intermediaries – it builds a firm foundation for DMOs to prepare future issuance from emerging market sovereigns.

Key themes of discussion include:
• Next steps for DMOs and treasuries to develop the requirements for issuance
• How bond issuance fits with debt dynamics and management strategy
• Designing frameworks, coordination with stakeholders and data collection
• Developing supply to meet investor bond demand
• Determining eligible projects for investment
