Sustainable Policy Institute

Building a more resilient financial ecosystem

About SPI

The global transition finance landscape has entered a more uncertain and complicated phase. Shifts in priorities and policy pullbacks have been witnessed across the globe, and action on climate change is at risk of taking a backseat.

OMFIF’s Sustainable Policy Institute was founded to meet the challenges of creating a sustainable financial system. It brings together the private and public sectors to drive the sustainability agenda, deepen understanding of the challenges and enable peer-to-peer exchange.

Membership

SPI membership provides institutions with unparalleled access to a global network of central bankers, pension and sovereign funds, regulators, government officials, asset managers, investors and banks. Packages are tailored to align with members’ strategic priorities and may include a combination of dialogue, research collaboration and thought leadership opportunities.

In addition to OMFIF's public events and research, SPI membership includes participation in exclusive member-only discussions and briefings, as well as early access to OMFIF's analysis and data. Membership also provides opportunities to contribute thought leadership to OMFIF's journals, podcasts and commentary platform.

SPI events

SPI convenes financial market participants focused on the net zero transition. Participation spans advanced and emerging economies, enabling members to benchmark policy approaches and investment thinking across jurisdictions.

SPI hosts roundtables, seminars, report launches and conferences, including at the International Monetary Fund-World Bank meetings and the COP gatherings. In the past 12 months, SPI has brought people together in London, Zurich, Washington DC and New York, as well as virtually.

Transition finance summits

In 2023, OMFIF hosted the Global transition finance summit in Singapore with the Singapore Stock Exchange. The conference brought together asset owners, pension funds and sovereign funds with policy-makers, central banks, development banks, fund managers and corporations to delve into the financial solutions, products and architecture required for the transition.

This year, OMFIF is taking the conference to Mexico City. The Americas transition finance summit, co-hosted with Bolsa Institucional de Valores, will convene leaders from asset management, private equity, public development banks, ministries of finance, central banks and corporates to advance credible, investable pathways to net zero. Contact [email protected] for more information on how to partner with the summit.
