A conventional economic theory, monetarism, holds that inflation is a monetary phenomenon driven by changes in the supply of money. Leading economists Patrick Bolton and Haizhou Huang join OMFIF to discuss their latest book, Money Capital, which argues instead that money should be viewed as the equity capital of a nation.
They shed new light on a range of issues, including inflation, central banking, money and growth and the international monetary system as well as providing insights on the Chinese economy and monetary policy.
