European sub-sovereign and German Laender forum
OMFIF’s Sovereign Debt Institute is hosting an event focused exclusively on the European sub-sovereign and German Laender bond market. This forum brings together these sets of prestigious issuers with fixed-income investors and other key market participants in the region.
The discussions will reflect on the issuance environment for these issuers in 2024, considering the relative richness of the German Laender versus peers in the sovereign, supranational and agency market, such as KfW, and whether these pricing levels are justified. They will explore the impact of the German state elections on the budgets and creditworthiness of these regions and how pricing strategies have evolved for the Laender. The event will also focus on key topics for the wider sub-sovereign market, such as price discovery processes, the evolution of investor bases and sustainable finance developments, with a look ahead to funding plans in 2025.
As with all of the SDI’s in-person events, the entire day will be off the record with no media in attendance to encourage participants to speak freely and stimulate authentic discussions. There will be ample networking opportunities through refreshment breaks, including a lunch for all attendees.
