On the eve of his retirement after 38 years at the Bank for International Settlements, Claudio Borio provides insights on the evolution of the global monetary system, reflecting on landmark developments during his long career close to the helm of international central banking.
Borio has been head of the monetary and economic department at the BIS since 2013. Jean-Claude Trichet, both a former governor of Banque de France and president of the European Central Bank, will provide introductory remarks and will participate in a panel discussion after the lecture.
