European SSA forum (autumn)

15 September 2026

With political and economic instability, 2026 is shaping to be a challenging year for European sovereign, supranational and agency markets. The market is being confronted with new and complex challenges that call for collaboration, innovation and insight.

The autumn edition of the European SSA forum returns as the must-attend event for issuers and investors shaping the future of public sector finance. The forum convenes leading figures from developed markets, including SSA issuers, asset managers, investment banks, rating agencies and other key stakeholders for high-level discussions on the issues that matter most, such as navigating geopolitics, market volatility and poor secondary market liquidity.

The event is held strictly off-the-record, ensuring an environment of openness and authentic dialogue. Attendees can look forward to candid, forward-looking conversations and networking opportunities with peers who are catalysing the evolution of Europe’s capital markets.

About the Sovereign Debt Institute

IMG_3615

OMFIF’s Sovereign Debt Institute is an important forum for issuers and investors in the public sector debt markets to discuss their priorities and concerns. The intimate format of our events has generated positive feedback from both borrowers and the buyside.

Events hosted by the SDI during 2025 generated in-depth discussions about core issues affecting the public sector debt markets. These included profound structural and geopolitical shifts, such as increased defence spending while balancing the shift towards more sustainable and green bonds, and global investors seeking alternatives to dollar-denominated assets amid ongoing US uncertainty and growing digitalisation.

Throughout 2026, we will build on the success of our 2025 calendar. This will include a mixture of flagship forums with larger numbers of issuers and investors, as well as more focused groups for discussions on specific regions and topics.
