Jason Furman on US economic developments and policy

Jason Furman on US economic developments and policy

Virtual roundtable
  Thu 27 Oct 2022 15:00 - 16:00

Monetary policy-makers face an economic landscape more challenging than they have experienced for years. High inflation, supply shocks, geopolitical instability and quantitative tightening have led to a turbulent year for the US economy. Is the worst yet to come with sustained low growth, or will a strong labour market ensure a soft landing?

Jason Furman, chief economist to President Barack Obama and 28th chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, joins Mark Sobel, OMFIF’s US chairman, to discuss these issues. Now professor of the practice of economic policy at Harvard Kennedy School and the department of economics at Harvard University, Furman is one of the US’ foremost economic thinkers and analysts.

Speaker:
Jason Furman, Chief Economist to President Barack Obama and 28th Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers

Timings:
15:00-16:00 (London)
