Following the 25 September election, economic challenges for the new Italian administration include curbing inflation exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, striking a balance between prioritising growth and fiscal prudence and countering euro area fragmentation. Against this backdrop, Ignazio Visco, governor of Banca d’Italia, joins David Marsh, OMFIF chairman, for a conversation on the economic outlook in Italy and monetary developments in the euro area and beyond.
