OMFIF hosted its third China-UK investor forum, following the success of the events held in 2022 and 2023. This year’s forum, ‘Fostering partnerships for global growth and prosperity’, was an important platform for examining and developing areas of mutual economic benefit for China and the UK.
The event brought together perspectives from both the public and private sectors, featuring representatives from sovereign funds, public pension funds, asset managers, wealth managers, technology developers, banks, insurance companies and private investors.
Jin Liqun, president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, joined the forum in conversation with David Marsh, chairman of OMFIF. He remarked that London is ‘one of the hopefuls’ under consideration for a European funding and trading hub of the Beijing-headquartered AIIB and provided a ringing endorsement of London’s prowess as an international financial centre.Â
