Blended finance has for years been positioned as a key instrument to drive sustainable finance in emerging markets. But while it is seen as crucial to these efforts, scepticism remains on its implementation. This virtual panel discussion, launching the February 2025 Sustainable Policy Institute Journal, explored how blended finance can unlock opportunities for transition finance and sustainable development. It discussed pathways for scaling sustainable projects, frameworks and tools, as well as the role of multilateral development banks.
