Ellen Meade, research professor at Duke University, joins Mark Sobel, OMFIF chairman, for a discussion on the Federal Open Market Committee meeting, which concluded on 1 February. They discuss the FOMC’s statement and press conference, whether the markets and the FOMC are on the same page and whether the Federal Reserve’s communication with markets and the public needs to be improved. In her distinguished career, Meade has served as special adviser to the Fed board of governors, as vice chair Richard Clarida as well as senior adviser in the division of monetary affairs.
