Trump 2.0: trade blocks and policy shocks

Donald Trump’s second term as US president will have major implications for global trade, macroeconomic policy, geopolitics and markets. While there will be high uncertainty in a number of areas, there will be also be opportunities for an economic rethink against the backdrop of a lacklustre growth outlook for 2025. Certain jurisdictions, such as Argentina, may be poised to benefit from Trump’s policies but others, such as China, will be hit by steep tariffs.
