The Bank of England’s blueprint for the digital pound

The Bank of England has published a progress update on its blueprint for the digital pound and is engaging in discussions to ensure the work continues to take account of stakeholders’ views. Stephen Boyle, principal architect for the digital pound, and Cormac Sullivan, overseeing strategy and economics at the Bank of England, discuss the motivations for the digital pound, the role of the private sector and how the technology could be designed.
