Representation and power: driving gender balance in leadership

Following the launch of OMFIF’s 2025 Gender Balance Index, this lunch briefing hosted in partnership with Franklin Templeton examines some of the report’s key findings and the ways women are represented in financial institutions. The discussion considers the types of roles held by women in finance and the issues women face in progressing up the leadership ladder. It also explores how female leadership impacts diversity and inclusion initiatives implemented in these organisations.

Paul Mielczarski is head of global macro strategy at Brandywine Global Investment Management. He is responsible for providing proprietary global macroeconomic research to support the global fixed income team’s investment process. He previously served as director of portfolio strategy at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan after serving as global macro portfolio manager at Graham Capital and Medley Macro Fund. Mielczarski started his career at Credit Suisse where he worked both as a global macro strategist and a fixed income and foreign exchange proprietary trader.
