Mapping the just transition: scaling capital to meet net zero

Mobilising finance is critical to delivering urgent action and ensuring sustainable economies globally. COP27 saw the amplification of emerging economy voices with the historic Loss and Damage fund, but what does this mean for a just transition, particularly in private markets?
Trillions of dollars still need to be deployed at pace and scale to support sector- and jurisdiction-wide transition. There is, therefore, a rising focus on transition finance products, standards and engagement with asset owners to push this economy-wide shift.
This high-level roundtable, centred around COP28’s finance day, brings together attendees from asset owners, policy-makers, investors and regulators. The event examines the state of climate finance and the role it can play in providing solutions and capital for the just transition. Topics include transition finance, sustainable products and investments, encouraging co-operation, convergence and forging the path to COP29.
