Seiichi Shimizu is Assistant Governor at the Bank of Japan. He is also an executive director. Previously, he was in charge of the financial system and bank examination department, the monetary affairs department and financial markets department. He has also led the financial institutions surveillance division, and was senior secretary to Governor Kuroda and deputy director-general at the international department
