Bissessur is skilled in macroeconomic policy and statistical analysis and forecasting.

Michiel De Smet is sustainable investment expert in reserves management at the National Bank of Belgium. Previously, he launched and led the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Finance Initiative and was circular economy expert in the European Union’s Platform on Sustainable Finance. His previous positions include consultant at McKinsey & Company with a private equity focus and policy officer at the European Commission dealing with circular economy innovation.

Marsh took over the chairmanship from John Plender on 1 January 2018 having been Managing Director since 2014. He moved to a non-executive role following John Orchard’s appointment as Chief Executive effective 1 January 2020.

Nikhil also leads OMFIF’s economic research and content, including global surveys of central banks, regulators and market participants. Previously, he was an emerging markets economist at Capital Economics, where he led the coverage of Latin America.

He has been a member of the general council of the European Central Bank and a member of the European Systemic Risk Board’s Steering Committee and chairman of the Vienna Initiative 2.0.
