This roundtable with the Indian High Commission and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund will consider the outlook for alternative investments in India. It will focus on India’s regulatory framework, infrastructure development and approach to the green transition. The aim is to foster better understanding of the investment climate in a key emerging market among UK asset owners and managers.

Neelkanth Mishra is chief economist at Axis Bank. He is also head of global research and a whole-time director of Axis Capital. Prior to joining Axis, he was co-head of Asia Pacific strategy as well as India strategist at Credit Suisse. He is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Economic Affairs Council, a part-time member of the Indian Prime Minister’s economic advisory council and has also advised government bodies like the India Semiconductor Mission and the 15th Finance Commission.

He led Actis’ energy business in Asia and established Actis as a leading foreign investor in Indian renewables. Prior to this role, Aggarwal worked with Citigroup and ANZ Investment Bank in the Indian energy and infrastructure sectors.

Vikram Doraiswami is High Commissioner of India to the UK. Prior to this, he was the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, the ambassador of India to Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea. He has also been posted to the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York as political counsellor as well as India’s Consul General in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also worked in the Prime Minister’s Office where he served as the Private Secretary to the Prime Minister of India.
