Global sovereign
debt forum
13 May 2025
OMFIF’s Global sovereign debt forum convenes debt management offices from across the world, along with multilateral development banks, portfolio managers and other key market participants for a series of high-level discussions on emerging markets.
The forum shines a light onto fast-growing economies to discuss their funding plans and how they are developing their investor bases. It includes discussions of investor relations and issuance plans as well as dedicated sessions on redefining the role of MDBs and sustainable bonds.
Last year’s forum was attended by investors representing a combined $24.8tn of assets under management. Other attendees included DMOs and MDBs, as well as intermediaries and other key market players.
The entire day will be off the record with no media in attendance to encourage participants to speak freely and stimulate authentic discussions.

About the Sovereign Debt Institute
OMFIF’s Sovereign Debt Institute is an important forum for issuers and investors in the public sector debt markets to discuss their priorities and concerns. The intimate format of our events has generated positive feedback from both borrowers and the buyside.
Events hosted by the SDI during 2025 generated deep discussions about core issues affecting the public sector debt markets. These included concerns about liquidity, incentives for primary dealers, the disappearance of the ‘greenium’, the impact of private placements, the role of hedge funds and the development of market infrastructure.
