Balanced, inclusive and green: rebalancing China’s economy
China rebounded strongly from the pandemic. However, growth is losing momentum and remains highly reliant on support from investment and exports, which threatens China’s sought-after transition to sustained, high-quality growth that’s balanced, inclusive and green. Helge Berger, China mission chief at the International Monetary Fund, joins OMFIF’s Mark Sobel to discuss the world’s second largest economy and rebalancing towards a more consumption-based model.
