Danae Kyriakopoulou is Chief Economist and Head of Research, managing and developing OMFIF’s print and digital research output, heading the publishing and economics staff in coordination with other departments, involving a substantial writing and public speaking role. Kyriakopoulou oversees the company’s flagship publications including daily commentaries, the Bulletin, Global Public Investor, OMFIF Press and bespoke reports. She helps develop research relationships and programmes with public and private sector institutions across the world, including OMFIF Members as well as central banks, finance ministries, sovereign funds and pension funds. She is contributing to building operational functions and processes for publications and communications, including digitisation.
Kyriakopoulou was previously Managing Economist and Deputy Head of the Macroeconomics Division at the Centre for Economic and Business Research in London. There, she led the organisation’s global research and was the editor of the quarterly Global Prospects report. She has presented her research in universities and to business communities across the world and has frequently analysed global economic developments in the media. She has also served as external Economic Adviser to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for the regions of sub-Saharan Africa and Greater China and has worked at the Research Department of the Bank of Greece.
She read Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Brasenose College, Oxford, and completed the MSc in Economics for Development at the Oxford Department for International Development. She is fluent in German, Greek, and Spanish.
