In 2024, OMFIF's Transition Finance Working Group met with the world’s largest public pension and sovereign funds, totalling over $5tn in assets under management, to discuss opportunities, barriers and outlooks on transition finance.

In 2025, the working group reconvened to speak with global public funds to assess the transition finance landscape and examine the progress made in the past year as well as the challenges that remain in the wake of a change in US climate policy. The conclusions of these conversations have formed the basis of a new report that probes into the complications investors are facing in their transition goals and the opportunities for investment.
