OMFIF convenes a panel discussion to analyse the role of the European Central Bank and the future of the euro area, in the context of the ECB’s 20th anniversary. The meeting focuses on the ECB’S loose and expansionary monetary policy, the timing of policy normalisation and structural reform in the euro area.

Speakers include:

  • Jürgen Stark, former member of the executive board of the ECB and former deputy governor of the Deutsche Bundesbank
  • José Manuel González-Páramo, executive member of the board, head of global economics, regulation and public affairs at BBVA and former member of the ECB’s executive board
  • Lord Adair Turner, chairman of the Institute for New Economic Thinking and former chairman of the UK Financial Services Authority
  • John Kornblum, senior counsellor at Noerr LLP and former U.S. ambassador to Germany
