Brexit and Asia: Economic, political and business implications for the region

Brexit and Asia: Economic, political and business implications for the region

Seminar   Singapore
Wed 3 Apr 2019 All Day

Nearly three years after the UK referendum on European Union membership, Britain was scheduled to leave the bloc on 29 March, before being granted an extension. Brexit’s timeline and impact remain uncertain, but the repercussions will certainly be felt across the world.

OMFIF and the British Chamber of Commerce in Singapore convene a panel of high-level speakers to discuss the implications of Brexit for Singaporean and Asian stakeholders, from the decisions of private business attempting to mitigate risk, to the effect on existing and future trading relationships.

The panellists will discuss:

  • Brexit uncertainty, EU resilience, and the future of UK-Europe relations
  • Future of trade between the UK and Singapore
  • Post-Brexit implications for Asia and Singapore
  • Contingency planning for Brexit

Moderator:

Adam Cotter, Head of Asia, OMFIF
