Against the backdrop of war in Ukraine, Germany’s highest inflation since the 1970s and the ending of European Central Bank net bond purchases, the growing vulnerability of the euro area is plain to see. Following the latest governing council meeting, Mahmood Pradhan, former deputy director of the European department at the International Monetary Fund, joins OMFIF’s Mark Sobel to discuss the challenges the ECB faces and the instruments at its disposal.
