Consumers are seeking faster payments and the most convenient user experience. With the new digital landscape of Web3 on the horizon, payments service providers are exploring new ways to meet market demands through digital native platforms’ payment rails.
The preponderance of new governance models, infrastructure design and decentralised autonomous organisations, as well as the advent of distributed ledger technology and blockchain, allows new enterprises to provide user confidence through transparency and smart contracts for borrowing, lending and international commerce.
OMFIF is joined by Aqsa Zubair, assistant director, fintech at Bermuda Monetary Authority, David Shrier, professor of practice, AI and innovation at Imperial College London, and Amanda Kosonen, global regulatory counsel at Payoneer, to explore the impact of the transition away from Web2. They explore the key opportunities, challenges and findings that can be gleaned from metaverse sandbox trials and whether users can transact with safety in this new decentralised financial landscape.
