Green horizons: the sustainable financial future of MENA

Green horizons: the sustainable financial future of MENA

Virtual roundtable      Exclusive to members
  Wed 24 May 2023 13:00 - 14:00

The Middle East and North Africa will play a critical role in shaping the future of sustainable finance. The region has long been known for its high oil revenues, but it faces both challenges and opportunities as the world shifts to a net-zero future. Investments in renewable energy, efforts to scale up the green capital market and a focus on impact investing can promote the region’s role in the sustainable finance movement.

This virtual roundtable will focus on policies and initiatives across the region, as well as risks that policy-makers need to address to benefit from the transition. The discussion will take place as Egypt hands over the hosting of COP28 to the United Arab Emirates and will explore what the green financial future of MENA looks like.
