About

OMFIFfoundationfinal

The OMFIF Foundation was established in August 2017 to promote higher standards of performance and conduct in economics and finance across the fields of central banking, sovereign wealth and public investment, helping implement mutually beneficial exchanges between the public and private sectors. To achieve these aims, The OMFIF Foundation:

  • is a not for profit company, limited by guarantee, set up under English company law and domiciled in London
  • will be run by a Board of Directors responsible for making decisions on the management of the company. The constitution provides that the Members of the company shall not receive any profits or other distributions
  • emphasises the long-term nature of OMFIF activities and will play a role in helping maintain OMFIF’s neutrality, objectivity and independence
  • will carry out the ‘non-profit’ activities of OMFIF, e.g.  ‘pro bono’-type meetings in the premises of central banks, as well as other related activities, including public lectures, longer-term education and training activities, also in connection with OMFIF Press
  • intends to make grants to suitable bodies, for example in the research field, with the goal of sharing the research developed in this way for general dissemination
  • will build up activities with other like-minded bodies and Foundations and agree strategic partnerships with them
