Pooma Kimis Managing Director, Commercial Partnerships & Membership

Pooma Kimis is Managing Director at OMFIF. Kimis leads relationship building with central banks, sovereign funds and public pension plans, and their private sector counterparts. Consolidating knowledge on these institutional investors’ policymaking and investment trends is a key part of her mandate. Experience includes macroeconomic policy, infrastructure investment, sustainable and digital finance, securities lending and capital markets liquidity, and reserve management and asset allocation strategies.

Prior to joining OMFIF in January 2012, Kimis was at a boutique private equity firm before moving into the real estate finance team, and then the fixed income team at a global investment bank.

Kimis takes a keen interest in entrepreneurship and finance for social good. She is partner and co-founder at Earth Heir, a luxury ethical craftsmanship brand which infuses modern design into traditional crafts and abides by fair-trade principles. She is currently a member of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Task Force on Digital Financing of the Sustainable Development Goals and the City of London’s Sustainable Development Capital Initiative. She was a City Committee member at Place2Be, a children’s mental health charity under the patronage of HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Born in Malaysia, Kimis speaks Malay, Tamil and French. She is closely involved in Asian and African affairs and frequently comments on current topics of interest. She is an active University College London (UCL) alumna, holds a postgraduate degree in law, and is enrolled at the Solicitors Regulation Authority in the UK.
