Oliver Thew

Oliver ThewProgramme Manager, Americas

Oliver Thew is Programmes Manager, Americas at OMFIF. He is responsible for programming and coordinating OMFIF meetings in the US, Canada and Latin America. Thew also manages relationships with central banks, sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, treasuries, multinational development banks and other official institutions in the region.

Prior to joining OMFIF, Thew was researcher and events manager at the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation, where he helped develop the Centre's fintech programme. He also completed an internship with the US Project at Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs), which involved work on common economic challenges between the US and Europe, socio-political policy in Latina America and the US-Asian power balance.

Thew has a M.Res. in US Foreign Policy and a BA (Hons) in American and Canadian Studies from the University of Birmingham. He has a specialist knowledge in US foreign policy and fintech, as well as a keen interest in emerging market economies.
