Miroslav Singer

Miroslav SingerFormer Governor, Czech National Bank

Miroslav Singer was governor of the Czech National Bank between 2010-16, having been appointed a member of the CNB board and CNB vice-governor in 2005. He was previously a member of the statutory bodies of financial and industrial corporations including Česká pojišťovna and Expandia Holding.

In January 2017 Singer joined Generali CEE Holding as its Director of Institutional Affairs and Chief Economist.

Between 1995-2005, he held managerial posts in several companies, including PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic. From 1993, he worked as a researcher and lecturer, and later as deputy director for research, at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Centre for Economic Research and Graduate Education at Charles University.

After graduating from the University of Economics in Prague in 1991, he obtained a postgraduate fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was awarded a Ph.D. in 1995.
