Prof. Nick Butler

Prof. Nick Butler is a Visiting Fellow and Chair of the King's Policy Institute at King's College London. He is Energy Policy Adviser at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge and Senior Adviser to Coller Capital and Corporate Value Associates. Butler is a Non-Executive Director of Cambridge Econometrics and a Trustee of Asia House.

Butler graduated in Economics from Cambridge University before joining British oil firm BP in 1977, becoming Group Vice-President for Strategy and Policy Development. He is a member of the Fabian Society, and has been Treasurer of the organization since 1982, having been a Former Chairman of the Young Fabians.

He was Chairman of the Centre for European Reform (which he co-founded with David Miliband) from 1994 to 2009; Chairman of the Cambridge Centre for Energy Studies from 2007-2009; and Special Adviser to the former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown from 2009 to 2010.

Butler is currently a member of the President's International Advisory Board at Yale University and Founder Member of British American Successor Generation Project.
