Prof. Hans-Olaf Henkel is Professor of International Management at the University of Mannheim and a member of various supervisory boards including Bayer AG, Continental AG, Daimler Luft-und Raumfahrt Holding, Ringier and SMS. Since 2006, he has served as a senior advisor to the Bank of America.
He began his career with IBM Germany, where he served in various management roles, including as Head of Germany, and CEO of IBM Europe. From 1995 to 2000, he served as the President of the Federation of German Industry (BDI) and from 2001 to 2005, as President of Leibniz Association.
Together with former German president Roman Herzog, Henkel is part of the ‘Konvent für Deutschland’ that is working to improve Germany’s political decision-making system. He plays an active political role regarding the euro in Germany.
Henke is the author of several best-selling books on economic and social matters including 'Rettet Unser Geld!’.
