Daniel Titelman is Director of the Financing for Development Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
Prior to this, he held various other positions at ELAC including Chief of the Development Studies Section, Coordinator of the Special Studies Unit of the Executive Secretary and Expert on Monetary and Financial Policies. He has worked on issues related to financing and social security, particularly in health and pension reforms, as well as having provided technical assistance to various countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Titelman has substantial experience in macroeconomics and financial issues and has participated in the elaboration of many institutional ECLAC reports on issues related to macroeconomics, financing for development and social protection. He is published regularly on these subjects.
Titelman holds a BA in Economics from the University of Los Andes, Colombia; MA in Political Science from the Latin American Faculty of Social Science and a PhD, specialising in econometrics and macroeconomics, from the University of California, San Diego.
