Marsha Vande Berg has deep and varied experience in the public and private sectors and enjoys an extensive professional network in Asia and Europe. Her professional focus is at the intersection of global markets, investment and governance. Her geographical focus is the Asia Pacific and linkages between Asia and North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Vande Berg served as chief executive officer of the Pacific Pension Institute (PPI), an international membership organization, from 2005-14. She is an independent, non-executive director of Quantum Advisors, an India-based, SEC- and SEBI-registered institutional portfolio advisor whose subsidiary is the manager of the Quantum Mutual Funds, with $2.5bn in assets under management.
She is a senior fellow with the Harvard Law School Program for International Financial Systems and affiliated with the International Finance Forum, Beijing and the RAND Center for Asia Pacific Policy.
Vande Berg is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the CFR Board Program Committee. She is a member of the Institute for International Strategic Studies, the Bretton Woods Foundation, and the 1990 Institute, San Francisco. She is a director of the Legacy Foundation and a member and past director of the International Women’s Forum of Northern California.
Vande Berg holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and an MA from Duke University, and certificates from Stanford Directors College and executive leadership programs at Harvard and Stanford universities. She speaks German and studies Mandarin.
